Why does "becoming bisexual" mostly happen to straight peope

Postby 2more » Wed Jul 06, 2022 11:34 pm

In light of my own experience, being gay and becoming confusingly bisexual, I was wondering why does bisexuality happen to mostly straight people, and very very rare to gay people?

Of course, I am only speaking from experience, but I doubt it's far from truth. I always used to joke about how most straight people develop bisexual tendencies in their 40's or 50's. Heck, most of the gay men will preach that majority of people are in fact bisexual.

But when it happened to me, a gay man, i was met with ridicule by my gay friends. Apparently, it's inconcievable that a gay man could become bisexual.

Why is that? Why do mostly straight people "become" bisexuals?

Is it?

Maybe that's why you don't see more. A closet is a two-doored wardrobe, so to speak. I hear it's particularly rough for women- hardcore lesbians supposedly accuse bisexual women of 'sleeping with the enemy'. From what I've heard.

We don't fit quite into either camp. If being gay is marginalised, then bisexual is marginalisation of marginalisation. The orthodoxy of both sides don't always quite know what to make of us.

That's my take, anyway. As a man whose blog I used to read, put it- homosexuality can't be some kind of force that only works in one direction.

Probably, this may be due to the fact that gays simply do not like to talk about it, so you hear less about it. Admitting you're gay takes a lot of effort, then discovering you're bisexual is even harder to admit.

Had experiences with boys before parents split. Always like women but would occasionally fantasize about men. 68 now and feeling more comfortable being Bi ( open to other men ) but not anonymous sex with strangers. I have been fortunate with Bi side with no bad experiences. Mybpartners were attractive to me not random strangers

I think you are born bisexual, I am 59 now and have like the naked form and touch of both genders since I became sexually active, I am genuinely comfortable knowing that I enjoy sex with both genders, but I look for love with females, I think that’s the bit that I am definite on I don’t need love from a male partner just sex. As I get older I find showering naked at sports facilities more comfortable around straight men and quite enjoy the views on show and hope they like what they see too x
