Hi Molly -
Welcome. You don't have to do this alone. Many of us are going through the same thing. I watch porn for stress relief, but it is also causing more stress in my life. The more stressed I get, the more I need it. It is a cruel and vicious cycle
Talking it out and training your mind to shift gears when it gets crazy is a behavior change that you can master. Diagnosing what makes us seek these thoughts can also help. A professional can decide the best course of action. Anti-depressants helped me stay the course while I went through therapy. The best therapists are those that have gone through the same battle as I. I listened to them because they seemed to have a handle on things when I felt out-of-control.
Anonymous (and free) help can be found in SA. These people shared many of the same things that I went through. I didn't feel so alone with my shame. If you stay long enough, you will hear your own story. There is a great power of healing and fellowship in the rooms. Male and Female. Best of luck to you.
