I just realized that I latch on incredibly hard to rescue fantasies and characters that are in the "savior" role. It seems I latch onto characters who are a bit "scarier" too. I think it's the idea that they're strong and not afraid of anything. Does anyone else do this? We have DID and I realized we have split a ton of protectors too.

it's actually a pretty common experience for traumatized ppl to seek what they want/know in fiction, so we've had the same realization! though, we do have more caregivers, soothers, and persecutors following our intense love for specific hurt/comfort fiction instead of protectors, us usually putting ourself in the victim/hurt character's position*.
*= ourself, being relative. it's usually a character we see as "basically us".

Wow did I see this late. Sorry, @circlesandcircles I always forget to check this email. That makes sense, though. It's interesting to see how other systems form/split around other kinds of fantasies and thoughts.
