Welcome, hope you can find some answers here, and at the same time sorry that you are here if that makes sense.

Simple answer to your question would be yes. It would. Also sexual abuse of a child is probably the more correct definition but yes, rape is what it was.

Take care.

You were mistreated, abused, degraded, sexually molested ... these are various words, just like "rape," that stir up emotions and convey a wrong that was done... and hurt you.

These words also have various legal, medical or psychological definitions which might not technically be termed rape.

Therapists, doctors, lawyers and well-meaning friends sometimes want us to use certain words because it fits their categories.

If a child is made to do any sexual act, that is wrong, illegal and depraved. Clearly you were sexually abused as a child, regardless of terminology. You were sexually assaulted.

It is totally OK for you to describe that bad experience in words that are accurate but also make sense to you.

It's your real experience and I highly respect that you are coping and pondering what it did to you, and struggling honestly with how to understand the aspects of abuse.

Children and people who are in subordinate roles can be manipulated into sexual acts by people with more power (adults for example). When that happens it's assult or rape. For children it's 100% assult/ rape if the person older person was an adult (in the US anyway). Statutory rape laws attempt to remove ambiguity by always classifying sex with a child as illegal no matter what the feelings/thoughts/or actions of the child are. This is to protect children because they are easily manipulated and will behave and react the way their caregivers taught them. Good luck to you moving forward. It's very brave of you to face your past.
