The Book that completely changed my life is called The Sculptor in the Sky by Teal Scott.
http://www.amazon.com/Sculptor-Sky-Teal ... 1456747258It is life changing and I've read everything that a person could read to try to overcome things and understand things and help oneself. I think it should be required reading for everyone!
It's a spiritual self help book but a person doesn't have to be spiritual to love it.
The section on happiness and self worth made me cry!

A great book for dealing with sexual abuse is Breaking Free by Carolyn Ainscough and Kay Toon. It explains things clearly and the authors seem to really understand what it is like to be a survivor. There are exercises to do as well which help with understanding what you have read. I would highly recommend it.

Here's a few that really resonated with me recently:
"Choosing Forgiveness: Your Journey to Freedom" by Nancy Leigh DeMoss
(helped me forgive myself for my past mistakes I kept obsessing about)
"Let Go and Live in the Now: Awaken the Peace, Power, and Happiness in Your Heart" by Guy Finley
(helped me quit obsessing about my past and worrying about my future...and to live in the present)
"The Edge Effect" by Eric Braverman
(information on the four brain chemicals; quizzes to identify deficiencies; supplements and foods to boost deficiencies... VERY enlightening and informative book)

Anthony Robbins motivated me when I got into self-help. Any of his audio programs are good.
Recently, I mostly follow Steve Pavlina (at
www.stevepavlina.com). He also has a book out, its very good, he did self-help from a very different perspective, so I suspect his opinions are not for everyone.

I'm not sure these would be under "self-help" and it may sound corny and cliche but I really love books like "The Power of Now" & "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle.
I'm also fascinated with reincarnation & stories of the "afterlife." I am NOT religious in any sense of the word.....definitely on the spiritual side but that's a horse of a different color. Someone can be religious but not have a spiritual bone in their body.

I have a new book called New Shoes. I am also reading Resurrection After Rape - which is hard going but quite good. You can download it as a free PDF online too.

The Tao te Ching. You haven't even got to buy it but it's nice to have a copy. It's available on loads of sites on the internet. Also, the Tao of Pooh.
