My previous post was removed by me because I felt the topic I wanted to bring up might be very triggering. I have had to relearn about my emotions and knowing that they are good, for example, if I am angry. I tell myself that it's ok to be angry and it's the action that I am supposed to guide with the intellect. That is only one example. It's a question and answer book by a catholic psychiatrist Dr. Conrad Baars, who is originally from the Netherlands but immigrated to the U.S. I don't like to share my material I read, but I believe this one is more of a book for anyone, regardless of religion. That is my opinion on the book, anyhow. :) The book is called Feeling and Healing your Emotions, Conrad W. Baars, MD

The ISBN number is 978-0-88270-966-6

You can find it in Amazon

I still reread it to sort of help me feel good about me and my decisions in life.

Beginning in the year 2000 books by Osho really helped me to start seeing my life in a more meaningful way, and from there books on Buddhism; Theravada and Zen. But that's not 'self help,' that's religion isn't it? Actually, Buddhism is more self help than religion. It's about the attainment of happiness. The destruction of suffering.

I think I read or familiar with those.
-Don't Panic- R.Reid Wilson <-- For anxiety

-The Anxiety & Phobia Workbook- Edmund J. Bourne <-- For anxiety

-Self Esteem Workbook: Glenn R. Schiraldi <---self esteem and self confidence

Peaks and Valleys <-- philosophy.

I used to read more books, but they were weak on helping me.

I love the book The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale. It's kind of scientific, but I love how he incorporated some real-life cases in the book. It also showed practical ways on how to cope up with mental health issues. Hope this helps!

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne
Magic by Rhonda Byrne
The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle

these saved my life and helped me dig myself out of my depression.

I recommend

Don't sweat the small stuff (For Teens) or Beyond Positive Thinking for those who preferred a light read.

Some books are good but they are too heavy for someone who is busy/depressed to read so I recommend the above. Don't be too bothered by the 'For Teens'. It's actually suitable for everyone.

I have several workbooks, some I haven't even had to touch yet, but are in my collection for if and when I do. I like to have an extensive collection of everything that I've dealt with or currently deal with. But the first 2 books I've read helped me tremendously, where the last one is in current reading status. All of them will trigger a response, as if they don't, it means they're not working correctly. But, the last one hits you right in the feels, and you need to be prepared to read something of this nature, as it'll trigger more than one trauma response. It's my most rawest therapy book. I've cried several times within the first few pages. It's best to read that book when you're much more healed. I hope these help!

"The Better Boundaries Workbook: A CBT-Based Program to Help You Set Limits, Express Your Needs, and Create Healthy Relationships." Author: Sharon Martin.
