So hard to explain

OMG eisa I'm an 18 year old and have the same problem too. Ive never been to a doctor about it cuz I just found out I had this through this forum and an MSN article. BTW, how old are you? Anyone have any tips on how to overcome SM?

saiskarri: I'm 23 years old now, but I've been dealing with it since I was in elementary school.

Unfortunately, I really don't know how to overcome it. It's always been extremely difficult to explain. But even around friends and family, I've had difficulty actually making the sound come out.

I'm tempted to start carrying around a notebook and writing stuff down for people, but I'm afraid that it will make me look like I'm permanently mute, and then once they find out I do have the ability to talk, it will end badly.
