DSM-5

Postby Anonymous12345 » Tue Feb 16, 2010 2:37 pm

The AMA have released a draft version of the successor (DSM-5) to the book (DSM-4) that was used to nail us under the Schizotypal category, with some sweeping changes to the way personality disorders are defined, over at http://www.dsm5.org/ProposedRevisions/Pages/proposedrevision.aspx?rid=15. Unlike some others our category remains, although the definition and requirements have changed.

Although changing a text doesn't fundamentally change reality, reading the draft felt like reading preliminary patch-notes for an MMORPG game, and rather exciting. I'm quite pleased with the changes, and find their new definition helps me form a better image of myself (for which I resort to such papers), without having to include terms such as "magical thinking".

What do you people think about the new definition?

Thank you very much for the link dude. There is a wealth of info there for every condition that is due to be reclassified in the DSM V. I am very much appreciative.
