I'm not sure if I have it or not.

I have been diagnosed with OCD, and Asperger Syndrome, but I also believe that I have Schizotypal Personality Disorder.

I am not one to manipulate, lie, or take advantage of others.

Ever since college, I have become more social, but I can survive as a hermit.

I appreciate my alone time, and still spend lots of time alone though I have friends ( I was anti-social in High school).

When I am distracted by something randomn, I tend to go weeks without being able to concentrate, and find it impossible to get back on track.

I am very sensitive to criticism, have trouble not taking it personally.

I am often accused of living in a fantasy world, and being eccentric.

I am often told that my thoughts/speech are hard to follow.

I have difficulty expressing my emotions.

I often have fantasies that are unattainable, and strange styles of speaking.

I personally misunderstand what is so wrong with being eccentric.

I am prone to withdrawal, and eccentric behaviour.

I often engage in wishful thinking.

These are the symptoms I experience, is it a chance that I have schizotypal disorder?

Hi, MissNewZealand! I'm sorry you didn't get any replies yet. You could try posting in the Living with mental illness forum as well, since it's a bit more popular. There are some links in this subforum about the disorder that you could read : http://psychforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=14024

This is true.. It seems people with Schizotypal Personality don't say too much. :? I know I don't. And sometimes I disappear for extended periods of time, though I still struggle with things..

What you're experiencing would be good to talk with a therapist about. Perhaps a psychologist would be able to figure out a more accurate diagnosis. Some of what you're experiencing, I experience as well so it's a possibility.
