That's the point. You can be intelligent in many different ways but an IQ test doesn't measure all of them. So you could have a high IQ but may struggle in other ways such as inter-personally. There are many ways to succeed and a standard IQ test just isn't a good measure to tell you much of anything unless you are of low IQ. Then there may be an issue.

however when it is quiet, for example in a forest, i wear no headphones

I agree. The sounds of nature are usually more tranquil.

listening to music ( out loud ) in general in public when around other people, depending on the song can make me paralyzed or cause me to have psycho motor retardation ( i think i mentioned this in my other post)

I can sort of get where you're coming from, although for me it's more of a sensory overload/self-conscious thing, I would feel sort of embarrassed standing out in the crowd blasting music. Also, I sort of know what you mean by feeling "wound up" by the music, like my mind is already racing as it is, and I get this perception that it's going far quicker when plugged in.

I know the feeling.

Headphones are cool. Tells people "fuck off" and allows me to be distracted and unbothered by others. Especially in the gym, I don't wanna be talking shit between sets. I'm not there to socialise.

I usually put in one earbud and hook the other one to my necklace so I can still hear what's going on around me. Regarding errands I tend to go out later in the day. I've always been a night owl and there's less people out then.

I know what you mean, user03.
Personally I can't handle navigating public spaces with music in my ears. If I'm sitting somewhere, or on the train for a while, I can.
But I *do* wear my headphones with nothing playing when I don't want people to engage me in any way. With in-ear headphones (not over-ear) I can still hear what's going on, but I can just look away and no one expects anything of me.

Same.
Last gym I joined had t.v. sets blaring. As if anyone can work out to t.v.
When the gym did have music on inst of t.v. it was awful, so I had to get my own. It was a necessity.
I enjoy working out to trance music ( not my usual genre).
For other areas of life eg. walking, train rides, working, I never wear them.
