Picking up energy sources from other people../

Have you ever felt this way?
Picking up energy from other people...behaving in a certain way around certain people.
A cousin of my friend who is autistic...
A strange kid I know who is a genius at drawing, writing poetry, making music...
An odd girl who was in my class back in school....
and a few others...

all different kinds of people, but the sensation is the same...

anyone feel this way?

I find that I do change myself to fit the situation I'm in. I think even my speech patterns change. I also will usually pick up on the mood of others and they can greatly affect my own. Is that what you mean?

Hmm... Not really. I mean, I can pick up the energy of others, but I know that it's not mine and I don't follow it. I do think that other people can rub off on you, but I usually keep being myself.

I think sometimes it is easy to shift to fit your surroundings.

Hi...i pick up energy from the atmosphere and have static energy in my body. It can be either positive or negative energy. I can sort of feel / hear it or sense it. I don't know if that is what you mean. I don't know if it's human energy or something else. I sometimes feel happy or sad depending on people around me and how they are behaving.

When I'm in a crowd, I know that people pick up on the fact that I'm not a human being like them. They instinctively sense it. I sometimes see shining rays coming out of them and I know that if I get too close, I'll get hurt by these. I pick up static from them, not energy, which is how I know I'm not on the same wavelength as them. It's scary. I sometimes get the feeling that they'll surround me and tear me to pieces because they're afraid of what's different from them.

I don't change my behaviour for others, though, I couldn't do that. But I'm very sensitive to the moods and emotions of others, I pick up on everything. I'm just not so good at showing my own, or even having any, for that matter.

Yup. I'm like that. A mirror. I feel I have no discernible 'human' identity, so I just play along with what I see other people do instinctively. I often also find myself imitating characters from TV shows I watch or books I read. Especially if it's something particular I've been interested in a lot for a short period of time.

On the topic, you might want to read about the theories of "psychic vampires" and "empaths". They're basically theorized to be types of people who sense others emotions/feelings and/or drain other people's energy just by being around them.

I guess you could say I adapt to people around me. When I don't have any energy of my own, I sometimes borrow it from people around me. I try not to do this a lot because the energy of other people is a little poisonous to me. Afterwards I feel totally drained and out of it. And whats worst is that sometimes the energy of other people pushes down on me, trying to compress me into a singularity. It's one of the reasons I hate to go out by myself.

Xuridas, that's the same thing that happens to me but im not very good at controlling my boundaries so I have basically no control over what kind and how much energy I get so basically I'm an empath and schizotypal what a combination! And I have yet to learn how to control my empath tendencies

My mother and I always referred to this offhandedly just as "vibes" from people. We used it to describe when you can just feel the sort of character a person has from proximity. I remember leaving the mall once with her and passing some nondescript man. We both looked at each other simultaneously and said something along the lines of, "He has bodies in his basement". Meaning, we each got the vibe he wasn't a good man.

Strangely enough we seen two psychics, and each made a comment on it. One insisted we call it something else (I can't remember what any more) and another told me, the moment I sat down with her, that I throw my energy out to feel others.

I worked on Chi when I was younger. I realized hands were just a catalizer and that I didn't need them. Although to show people I use my hands, otherwise they don't feel the magnetic build up. Well my point is, once I was on the bus, feeling pretty angry about - oh the usual (my life)- so I took a deep breath and just inhaled everybody's energy. Felt great, and I swear I saw the people kind of stop for 2 seconds as I was doing it.
