Being a fellow schizophrenic, I was just wondering how other schizophrenics deal with apathy. For me I havent felt happiness since I was a little kid. So how do you guys feel about this, and do you ever truly feel as happy as before the illness?

that sucks dude, schizophrenia sucks, but if you can't feel at least some empathy and happiness it must really suck. don't the voices make you laugh sometimes? just joking.
what helps for me is having some hobbies like playing tennis and chess. hobbies really help, also if you take meds then that might cause apathy. my experience is they just zombied me out. i had no sort of feelings, i couldn't feel happy or bored i felt like a zombie.
hope this helps

when all else fails. run around acting like a child and poke and make sounds at family members. i'm serious. sometimes the sounds make more sence to me then speech. the voices with leave you alone too during this time. i think they find it amusing.
