diagnosis

Postby bewilderbeast » Thu Dec 08, 2005 10:19 pm

I've had 7 admissions into hospital over the past year and am currently under section, a compulsory treatment order which means I have to get depot injections. Thing is when I was in hospital a couple of nurses said I was schizophrenic, my nurse gave my parents leaflets on schizophrenia and I'm on Risperidone which is to treat schizophrenia, yet no doctor/ psychiatrist/ psychologist has told me I'm schizophrenic and I'm too scared to ask. Do you think it's safe to say that I've been diagnosed?

here's how i see it....i don't have schizophrenia, but i have been labeled that incorrectly before, i do have major depression with psychotic features though, and i accept that, because when i get too depressed, i get psychotic, so i see it this way, read up on things, find somthing that you identify with, and see a psychiatrist, and then label yourself that way, it's what i did,and i can sleep on it, good luck:)
somtimes, it's like i want to touch these lights, and give into them become them, just a flash for a moment~in this world

bewilderbeast,

Has your psychiatrists conducted any form of medical test to identify if you have a chemical imbalance? Have you seen your lab test results demonstrating you have SZ? Of course not, there is no test. There is no medical science behind psychiatry so don't take the labels to seriously.

Having said that it sounds like your in deep $#%^. I was forcefully drugged when I got labeled SZ. I ran away, got off the meds and recovered.

Good luck.
