Lexapro (escitalopram) and loss of líbido

Postby luis » Tue Aug 16, 2005 12:08 pm

Hi all,

I would like to warn you that Lexapro (escitalopram), the well known antidepressant can produce a long-term loss of líbido.

Fortunately you can recover the líbido some weeks after switching to another antidepressant like Zoloft.

I am telling you this out of my personal experience. I started taking escitalopram a year ago or so and progressively i lost my libido and sexual desire, up to the point that i couldn't even do it myself. Three weeks after i switched over to Zoloft i have recovered my beloved líbido.

Regards,
Luis
