Schizophrenia In Families? Please Help.Please

Postby Italia80 » Sun Nov 28, 2010 5:45 pm

I have not personally witness any type of paranormal activity however, I do believe in unexplainable events. My boyfriend’s family has moved at least five times, and his mother and other siblings claim every house they have lived in to be haunted. They all claim to have heard voices etc. And have haunted stories for each home in which they have lived.
My boyfriend, who is 25 years of age, sleeps on his stomach every night to prevent “old hag syndrome”. My boyfriend and his mother both claim that a man in a black suite (whom they believe to be a relative watching over them) has followed them from home to home. My boyfriend and his mother both claim to have heard a demon come through his guitar amp and made a growling noise—which they claim was terrifying. My boyfriend and his sister have been committed to a mental institution for 72 hours (which I know it’s not hard to get involuntarily committed to a mental institution).
Again, I emphasize that I do believe that certain people can see spiritual energies (apparently I’m not one of them). Mainly, I was just wondering if perhaps schizophrenia runs in families. ? I know my boyfriend has a cousin who is a diagnosed schizophrenic. I’m not ruling that perhaps his family could just be very sensitive to sprits. Does this sound familiar to anyone else ? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

Hi, Italia80! Old hag syndrome might have something to do with sleep paralysis. Maybe one of them really believes that the haunting happens and they're making the others believe it too. It could be anxiety or they were frightened into believing it when they were small children, stuff like that. I think schizophrenia does tend to run in families (I could be wrong), but I'm not a doctor or a mental health professional and neither is anyone else here.
