Auditory Hallucinations-a poll

Postby omom » Thu Aug 03, 2017 2:20 pm

let's make a poll.
●internal or external?
●how many voices?
●familiar or unfamiliar voices?
●do meds decrease them?
●do you have a relationship of love/hate with them? do you miss them?
●when do they usually happen?
●how long do they last?
●how do you distract yourself?
●do you find it tempting to obey their commands?

internal. 3 so far. unfamiliar. meds may make them disappear or just decrease them. yes. I miss them sometimes. usually when I am quiet. from minutes to hours. doing things. they don't command except for one time that they said "kill, murder" but they never said who & why.

Internal
From everyone I knew, one is leiding
Quetiapine decreases them, I think risperidon didn't
Love/hate, missing them, being relieved or being bored when they are gone
Busiest in the evening and at night
All day long
Too scared to destract myself, Trying to test reality (which is why i stalked one of those people), in a peaceful mood maling sort of my own cognitive behavioral therapy about them
Have obeyed commands, leading to sleeping on the street, almost give my child up for adoption, sending many weird and angry massages to people, also about them punishing me with satanic forces and stuff... Most of the time not obeying by believing it was the devil's plan
Instead of obeying answering them on Facebook, staying strong
Dx: schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, dependent personality disorder

Internal, no idea how many. Unfamiliar. Meds only decrease them a bit. I sometimes miss them. They usually show up when it's quiet, often before I go to sleep but I can listen to them any time I want. They seem to run in the background all the time, but are easily drowned out with music or intense thought. They never tell me to do anything, but I would probably listen to them if they did, since they've always been nice to me (except one).

Thanks for this poll, I've been wondering about stuff like this. The experiences you're describing sound more similar to mine than I would have thought.

I don't think I have auditory hallucinations, apart from some hypnogogic ones.

If what I am doing is actually hallucinating, then I am quite convinced that most everyone has auditory hallucinations. After all, you -do- hear your own thoughts. Thoughts aren't always coming from your conscious mind, no matter who you are.
