Does the outer world ever reflect your inner world?

Postby Flic1989 » Sun Jun 11, 2017 11:00 pm

Do the strange things in your head ever link up with strange goings on in the real world?

Today I watched a tennis match and the whole crowd started moving together like some swarm of bees!
It terrified me...

My voices also tell me things which I have no clue about, which I check up on and find out to be true. E.g which movies have sequels.

Do things ever get a little too real/ scary for you in the real world? And you can literally put your finger on it?

Things generally get more serious in my world when things in the real world get more serious. My delusions, especially. I will hallucinate and see things, similar to your tennis crowd. I saw a guy with a rifle at a baseball game once (hallucination). I saw an old boss walking down the street, shortly after they left for a different job, and then they disappeared suddenly.

Hallucinations can be caused by stress and lack of sleep. People without Schizophrenia can experience hallucinations due to lack of sleep. That's what they originally thought mine was, due to my work schedule. I changed my work schedule and it was still there. On top of that, my psychiatrist once explained to me that hallucinations can sometimes (but not always) be like living dreams. Sometimes you see things that you'd usually dream about, or hear them even. I experience visual hallucinations more than auditory, so I see a lot of weird things in my normal day.

Yes yes.

Oh I agree about the lack of sleep making hallucinations worse. That continues to be one of my biggest issues.

I rarely get visual hallucinations, mostly auditory. The scariest ones sound like someone or something is walking down the hallway and then creeping into my room at night. One time that was going on and then my cat knocked a box of crackers off my night stand and it thudded onto the floor and caused the drapes to move just slightly but I saw it and heard the thud and it freaked me out because i thought the hallucination was becoming a real thing in my room.
