Check this out it may help you and your mom
http://www.schizophrenia.com/pdfs/roadahead.pdf
Also you might want to think about getting into some therapy for yourself and your mom. You have been through some pretty traumatic experiences and should be concerned about your own well being as well as your fathers. I only say this because alot of times people spend so much time and effort caring for a loved one that they forget about themselves. It must be difficult to see your father in this state and it may help to talk to a professional yourself so that you can understand the illness and learn some coping techniques.
My hopes are with you and your family. Things will get alot easier with treatment. Your dad is lucky to have such a great and caring son and wife. With a good support network the prognosis of schizophrenia is always positive.
Take care,
Amy

Thank you for the link...I will print it off for my mom and I ..
18 years ago when I was 17 100% I could have used help..both my mom and I ...or at least a forum like this..that was before the internet and easy to access information existed.
My Mom and I are fine now....as an adult now I can see back how things went and they were not my fault..or my dad's fault.
Now at least we can get him help before the next episode.

Well I'm glad that you have been able to process those events and work through them on your own. It takes a really strong person to do that.
Goodluck,
Amy
