Catatonic Schizophrenia

Postby crazy_banana » Mon Aug 17, 2015 5:38 am

Why is it so rare that a patient would go into a catatonic stupor? I remember that I had a catatonic episode that lasted for several weeks. I couldn't talk, couldn't walk, couldn't really do anything because it was like there was a force that was controlling my movements and it felt like my body was frozen and unwilling to move. It was scary, being controlled by a force that nobody else could see and also being thought to be either very sick or acting, when in reality it is just your schizophrenia.
Diagnoses: schizophrenia, dissociation disorder NOS, Generalized anxiety disorder, selective mutism, psychogenic seizures and self injurious behavior.
Medications: Clozapine and Risperidone.

I think you lacked the willpower to resist that power. You need to force yourself to move and speak.
Besides, it's impossible to sit still for a few weeks. You still got up and did something all this time.

Sorry for my English.
