I don't know where to turn for help

Postby Guest » Thu Apr 20, 2006 8:31 am

Hi , I'm new here and I hope someone can help me or give me an opinion. My 35 year old boyfriend has been telling me some things and I don't know what to make of them. There is no-one else I can talk to about him at this time. He is a gas rig supervisor, takes care of himself very well, and sometimes does not get our conversations straight. He turns things around. Other than that he is very loving.
* he says he saw many, large tropical parrots in a tree on the family farm in Saskatchewan, Canada. {that would be impossible}
* he said he saw something so horrific that he could not share it with anyone and when he told his friend, he ran away in fear.
* he said he was out walking and said he prayed for a wonderful girl and he heard an actual voice say..."she's out there"...and when he looked around there was no-one there.
he says he has to listen to his intuition or be sorry for not doing so.......one example is his intuition telling him to travel immediately to the coast which is 15 hours away, so he did and did not know why he had to do it then he came right back and said he had a special message to give to a cab driver but doesn't know what it was.
* he does not want me telling his family about his intuition.
* sometimes he cries tears and doesn't know why and just says that something will happen and he does not know what.
* told me on 3 different occasions he devoted himself to a special girl once and thought he was going to marry her but she cheated on him. I asked him about it 2 weeks later and he said he never said anything like that.
* he told me he has a deep secret and cannot share it with me and that he has to work on it alone.
* HE SAID HE SEES OTHER THINGS BUT CAN'T SHARE THEM BECAUSE I WOULDN'T BELIEVE THEM ANYWAY.
THANKS FOR HEARING ME OUT.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this...do some of these symptoms above sound like unusual things? Could some of these things be of a schizophrenic nature?

I can not say if he has schizophrenia or not. His "symptoms" you expressed seem very sporadic, and some even just sound normal (in my opinion).

Considering the symptoms and his age (Schizophrenia usually manifests itself in late adolescants to early adulthood in men), what you describe may be in result of something else.

Basically, I can't say what exactly is going on. But if his symptoms are interfereing with his functioning and his daily routine, it might be best to ask him to see a doctor to just see what may be happening.

Thank you so much for answering.
These and other things he mentioned to me apparently started when he was about 11 years old. He said he saw other things but that I wouldn't believe them. He seems to be so far off in another world. I guess I"m going by only what he is willing to tell me. I was going by the fact that the average person doesn't see and hear things that aren't there and he is.
