Looking through module 1A I am a bit disappointed.

They evaluate attributions only in terms of consequences of thinking that way. These are the disadvantages and advantages they mention: reduces self confidence, regarded as noble, considered impolite, seems arrogant, you are deemed to be modest, and a real “team player”.

Except for the influence on self confidence, they only seem to be concerned with self presentation. Do they think that what is wrong with people with psychosis is not what they think but what they say?

Evaluating a cause because of its influence on your self confidence is also concerned with the influence a certain attribution has, not its plausibility.

Do they think that you should simply believe something because of what consequences believing in it has? Don’t they have any sense of something being the most plausible cause whatever the consequences of believing in that cause?
Do they also think that people should make their scientific theory only because of the consequences of believing in it? And should you not only write what is most convenient, but really believe in it?
