Hi Everyohe,
I am here to find some answers and kindly do not take it the wrong way. I have been stalked by a person only on the internet via emails and facebook messages ( He got my details in various ways) from close to 3 years now, this person claims to be in love with me where as hate reality is I have never met him in real life, I haven't had personal face to face contact with him. He said he studied in the same university as me but not the same classes and he fell in love just looking at me. He claims to be schizophrenic and has been diagnosed by doctors apparently. He sent me emails claiming to love me and when I responded back saying I don't know him, he told me he is obsessed with me. I stopped responding to his emails and any communication from him, but that just got him more violent, he sent another email threatening to kill me via various means, all of which were gruesome ( lighting on fire after dousing with gasoline, stabbing, running over by a car) At this point I could stay silent no longer and I lodged a police complaint for my protection. Despite this, he stalked my brother and tried to be his friend and all of it failed. He stopped communication for a while and now is back to stalking me. I am a non US resident and finding Schizophrenia or causes and treatment is harder in my country with social taboo associated with it. Although I am scared as hell for my safety I wish his disorders can be treated so that he can lead a proper life. I want to understand more about paranoid schizophrenia so that I can be alert for myself while letting authorities know what can be done to help him. Kindly do not take it ask if I am looking at him as a freak, I understand he has a problem and we need to find a solution. I have read about cases of schizophrenia where in state of delusion murders have taken place ( example prosenjith poddar's killing of tatiana tarasoff where he had mentioned he intended to kill her). This does indeed scare me but I hope to find some answers as to paranoid schizophrenia where he can be treated. Could anyone please describe me what it entails and what steps can be done taking into account the current circumstances?
