Sudden increase in positive symptoms.

Postby dani741 » Sat Jan 05, 2013 11:15 pm

Hey I'm new to this site and I have some questions about my mental health. I saw my doctor this week and she told me that I have a psychotic disorder nos. I'm relieved to finally have a name for my mental disorder but I'm also scared. I'm on medication but I've had a huge increase in my hallucinations and paranoia for the past few weeks and I'm wondering if my condition could lead to schizophrenia. I've had two psychotic breaks in the past where I had to deal with the delusion of thought broadcasting. Could the sudden increase in symptoms indicate oncoming schizophrenia?

I noticed some increase in positive symptoms when I took meds for a short period of time as well. I think this is "normal" for a brief period of time until your body gets used to it but I'm not positive. Check with your doctor.

What I'm curious is if you'd be like me. Try cutting MSG, gluten and dairy from your diet and see if these positive symptoms subside. Food allergies may cause brain-swelling so your positive symptoms may also be allergy induced.
