Is this even worth it? Chances are, sooner or later, that person is going to come back and bite you in the ass asking you what happened that day you hung up on them.

That's when you turn around and walk away from them mid-sentence.

That seems unnecessarily rude.
We think too much and feel too little.
More than machinery, we need humanity.
More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness.

Well it was sort of a half-joke. But I have been confronted with people in the past who were so banal or stupid or racist or hateful or, conversely, overly politically correct that it would cause me great psychic pain if I were to remain facing them for a second longer. I'm too socially inept to engage them with an argument or any kind of riposte.

I'm actually a big believer in common courtesy. Very much so. But there's a nasty little demon in me that feeds off of anger and depression and sometimes, albeit rarely, he gets the better of me.

Hadn't thought of that. Great solution.

I don't like talking for any longer than I have to.

I do apologize later if they ask me why it happened.

The beauty of mobile phones is one can blame a bad connection. The other person will usually hang up if you say you cannot hear them and the line is v bad....

That's another thing I hate about mobile phones. If the connection is bad, I have to frequently repeat myself, or keep saying "what?". This makes an unpleasant phone call take even longer. Man, I hate the telephone. When I get a call, it's like somebody saying "STOP whatever you are doing right now because I have something to say!". Why would I want to carry one around with me? All I'd do is hit "ignore".

Hey. "Ignore". That's a a good username.

People might take you literally. :)

I don't answer esp if I am just home from work. People are selfish if they ring another at certain times but then I guess no time is a good time :)

Phone calls aside, people are very intrusive especially at work , demanding one stops their train of thought to listen to them  Sometimes I present a dopey expression or one of perplexion when interrupted. It seems to cause amusement.

When you check your mobile phone balance and you see you have $350 in prepaid credit.

I have no idea if I'm ever going to able to use it all at this point.
