I'm not sure, I feel so much pain but the emotions are exciting...

I don't like excitement. I definitely prefer schizoid.
In the big picture, nothing matters.

Schizoid here! By a mile! Being BPD would just make me a nervous restless wreck.

i know i've already posted in this thread, but now that it's bumped, i'll post some more. >:3

from what i've heard, being a borderline sounds like one of the worst things a person can endure emotionally. the fear of abandonment; the severe bouts of depression, anger, and anxiety; both needing desperately to be loved but having terrible emotional outbursts that can wreak havoc on relationships; the guilt that you would have after having hurt loved ones with emotions that you have trouble controlling; having no idea who you really are and having an unstable image of yourself; the self-harm, drug abuse, and dangerous activities that often come with the disorder.... this sounds like hell to me! being borderline would be awful.

honestly, although we have our hardships, being schizoid really usually isn't that bad. feeling little or not pleasure sure sucks, but other than that life is usually okay. some situations aren't very good for us (like having a relationship with someone who needs you to be there for them emotionally, having to be around people a lot, etc), but i would imagine that few of us experience the degree and frequency of pain that borderlines experience. and really, by isolating ourselves and being indifferent to some or all negative events, we keep ourselves from feeling as much pain as other people would feel. i'd take being schizoid any time!

if any borderlines happen to read this, i hope that you can stay strong and overcome your disorder. you have my sympathy, your fight sounds like a really difficult one. good luck.

You're right. Also notice that SPDs rarely seek help because they are generally comfortable, BPDs very often seek that help. Life is certainly easier for us.

I'll take schizoid anyday. Having BPD is a living night mare at times.
Caution, dyslexic writer ahead.

I was going to say something about how often these threads come up (SPD vs [insert disorder]). Then I noticed to how old the thread was so I won't push it further.

Back on topic... To choose between either disorder is like choosing rotten fruit at the market. It doesn't matter which one you pick, they are both still rotten. SPD has it's own problems that one needs to deal with. it is all a matter of severity. I can't speak for BPD, though I imagine there would be significantly more stress in daily life. Personally I would much rather have neither. :|

I'll take not having people thinking they can prod or poke me just because i am dissociating atm.

I'm literally talking crap. Unless i say something academic, i'm posting to fill space, i guess because i have to do something and i can't concentrate on some other things. my mind is trying to turn over stuff...

I'm with you on the rotten fruit. I'm not even primarily schizoid underneath everything, the schizoidish stuff is a reaction to other problems having made my life impossible to live. Eventually and bit by bit people withdraw and just shut off.

bpds suffer A LOT very MUCH
being bpd would be really terrible. feeling all the wrong emotion would be worse than feeling nothing.

Your post was very thoughtful and considerate.

Feeling all the wrong emotion. I don't know if what I feel I would consider to be wrong per se I just often don't know what I am feeling. It is too many emotions at one time. They overwhelm me and I can't differentiate them. I think it would maybe be comparable to having rapid thoughts and being unable to process the meaning of one before another follows.

My emotions react before my thought process has even begun. That doesn't come until after.
