Doesn't it depend on the french dialect? I believe in some dialects it can be pronounced "ski-zo-ide"

According to my dictionary, you don't pronounce the final "e", but even if you did, it would be pretty much inaudible.

Aha, ok.
I must have somewhere heard this inaudible suffix be spoken aloud and it has stuck into my head.

People in France like to do this... while Quebec-ers do not. Hah... we probably have the one of the laziest ways of speaking here.

Well that would not have been very schizoid like. I was actually more surprised that she mentioned it at all as it was an intro psych class.

Because you are schizoid doesn't mean you have to act schizoid 100% of the time.
Some of us here have SPD, some have schizoid traits, some are comorbid.
Even if you have SPD and only SPD, everybody has it to a different degree.

That is an excellent point. I know somebody who has been officially diagnosed with SPD and people just think he's a little bit antisocial. Around people that's he's comfortable with he seems completely 'normal'.

Well I thought it is pronounced something like "S-he-zoid", but this is because its how Schizoid is pronounced in Polish. I guess I automatically considered that the polish pronounciation is just a copy of the english one, guess I was wrong.

Shrinks here don't use the word schizoid, they either mention the entire name of the disorder (schizoidalne zaburzenie osobowości) and refer to the one with SPD as "the one with schizoid personality" or simply "the client/patient".
I'm self diagnosed with a very severe and incurable case of "being Sabratha".
