I tried to research exactly that topic not long ago, but I didn't
find anything useful about attachment disorders in adults, or
even any follow-up of attachment disordered children grown up.
I suspect that unless they are successfully treated, they would,
indeed, end up with a personality disorder, but not necessarily
schizoid (other possiblities that come to mind would be
anti-social, narcissistic, and histrionic).
