Anyone use the Internet as a way to cope?
I feel like I can't talk to people in real life. They're at best boring, and then I get caught up in my voices. If I don't respond, they raise a fuss. They're total control freaks. They have accused me of being a control freak. But they're the control freaks. A control freak tries to control other people. I just try to control myself.
I also do positive self talk. I love thinking.

I don't have any friends but if I did, there are things I wouldn't talk about. I don't talk about certain things with my wife either. Reason being, unless they are going through the same thing, they can't really relate. Sure, they can be supportive but that's not really what I am looking for most of the time. I mean it's nice my wife gives me a break but sometimes, it also feels like she dismisses that I am still functional. Anyway, I use to internet to relate to people dealing with the same issues. I don't want the additional baggage of a real life person.

Yes. I don't enjoy reality due to the forced interactions with people, so I escape into the Internet where I can spend all my time in solitary, intellectual pursuits.

Yeah I am like this too. I am not attracted to many people and also I feel scared around them. Not really scared but uncomfortable.

I don't think the internet helps me cope.
Just alone time. I like to be away from people. Some parts of the internet feel more people free than others. I react to social media the same way I react to people (it exhausts me). I've always really liked reading, and I can find a steady stream of things to read on the internet. I like playing guitar.
I can't do the self-talk thing. I have an aversion.
