Fair enough. I was trying to make it on topic since Schizoids tend to fit the laziness bill, although, it's due to our condition and not entirely by choice. Since lazy people are seen negatively, we can be seen the same. Therefore, we don't necessarily get the support we need along with other mental disorders. Avolition is a doozy. So, our view on politics for "lazy" people is relative but I understand not wanting to pursue it.

The very concept of laziness is intrinsically based on moral views. And in times when no political system is faring well and ideas are clashing against each other to fill the vacuum left, moral views are inevitably a political subject.

Conclusion: "laziness" is a political subject. There's no escaping it, OP.

If you disagree, then please go on and define "laziness" clearly and with no moral or political undertones.

This forum is for and about people with SPD. my question was "do you consider yourself lazy", and asked you to explain your Yes-No choice. Obviously, you can say that you don't consider yourself lazy because you have to work 24/7 to pay your bills. But I ask you to stop here, do not go to politics and blame their laziness to your financial problems - their laziness is off-topic. The title says "Schizoids and Laziness", and I mean the relationship between those two, we're on SPD forum after all.

Tell whatever you want without bringing politics, it is possible, and that's all I ask for.
If you can't do it, no offense, but please just ignore this post.

Thanks for everyone who replied and I hope you understand my reasons (and the one I didn't mention) for my request.

Thanks, I like reading my past self. He had some interesting things to say. I'm wondering if I was just describing avolition. I assume unstable avolition is depression related. However, I would say that the depression only worsens the underlying issue.

schizoids generally lack ambition and are indifferent to social pressures, so they may be more resistant to the prevailing economic ideology

"Laziness" is how well behaviors are deemed by a group to aid in the groups directives.

In a relationship vacuum, "laziness" doesn't make sense. How can one be lazy if one is all alone.

It takes being a member of some collective for the word to have meaning. A family, or a company, or state.

Asking "do you consider yourself lazy?"

Of course not.

Do I realize that hierarchies that I find myself in might label me as lazy? Then yes. Others may label me as lazy because my own pursuits don't align with their directives.

Either way talking about politics is inevitable as people are going to try clarify the damn question.

Morals are used to consolidate power, and "Laziness" is word loaded with morals.
It is political.

In the rules it states political commentary being prohibited. Let's please refrain from having that so I can be lazy and won't feel the need to lock the thread. :P

I would have used the topic name Schizoids and Motivation.

I don't believe laziness to be the issue. I have read posts of others who had this issue that I've noticed in myself when a schizoid wants to do something but can not do it.

For me I learned it's a dopamine issue. Everyone who writes or discusses dopamine is all about increasing it. That's great. For long as I've known I've eaten a dopamine rich diet but would rarely get the promised motivation Problem is they never mention you also require a stimulant ex. coffee to push it to the part of the brain that makes a person awake, focussed and motivated. One has to be careful though of course because too much dopamine = the well known anxiety caffeine can give.

I read this whole thread last night but I have a headache which makes me too lazy to go over it again to see if I had more to add.

I think lack of motivation, low energy, low interest, ...etc...is often misinterpreted as laziness.
If one is not motivated by money or if one has no interest in their job, many of their behavior patterns can be misinterpreted as laziness.
