Parador frequently posts off topic, non sequitur threads in AvPD, and I don't recall seeing them get locked. I suspect the mods there understand that just because a non MH related topic is being discussed, it's still being discussed by people who suffer from PD's.

I think it's funny how here, the off topic thread is frequently used to discuss SPD issues.

It gets pretty boring if people have every thread be about how bad we feel. People with MH problems react differently to workplace politics than normies, right? Normies have social networks that help support them when things go bad, but isolated loners don't have that. So how do we keep from getting ourselves "disappeared" due to workplace politics? It's not really off topic when you look at it from that perspective.

Hit or miss. I have seen things go well at personality forums. They didn't go so well at a motorcycle forum. It was kind of funny because that thread had the most traffic before they shut it down.

Personally, I think talking politics, religion, etc. is the best way to get to know people so I think it would work at any forum designed to relate about ourselves. It only starts getting bad when people attack other members instead of the actual topic. Of course, some get butthurt pretty easily regardless. I figured things would go well for Schizoids since we don't have the same connection to things. Opinionated sure, but logically connected vs emotionally connected.

I was protected by one older manager, I think because I made her look good with my work output.
Without social networks, you just have to take what you can get. Of course, I never got myself into any trouble that would warrant dismissal, I just didn't fit the "norm". Due to retirements, I think I was due to get let go since I wasn't doing well in the new "social" environment anyway.

I don't mind off-topic talk in general, but I find that politics-du-jour subjects tend to be like weeds wherever they pop up. And much more often than not, it's more about gauging each other's position and gathering moral support for your own than actually talking about it. I doubt anyone here will be better prepared to deal with office politics by the end of this thread.

If this thread has taught me anything, you can't be harassed until you don't like it. All I can imagine is that you are doing it wrong.

There is no doubt I will be no better at dealing with office politics. After living this long, I am well aware of my faults.

As for topics such as these, I just like understanding how a person got to their position. As stated, it tells me a lot about that person. I can't really fault them for coming to that conclusion because there were probably a lot of things that built up to it. Take Trump for example. His life contributed to him turning out the way he did. Whether I like him or not, I can't entirely blame all that on him. Other people also enabled that. What does that say about all of us?

As for Parador, you start understanding where his posts are coming from. While I don't agree, I can see how he came to those conclusions. It would be difficult to try and make a convincing argument otherwise since that is what he knows personally.

I made an effort to read about cognitive bias so I could better understand it and avoid the pitfalls. I'd like to say I remain neutral in most subjects even if I believe one side over the other. I mean, facts are facts whether you call them fake news or not. I won't argue religion but I still like to hear people's view on why they believe it.

i got to an argument(peaceful one) recently with a friend with close line of thought to you, after giving up i jokingly said that i would rather be a men in all country except in Sweden i would rather be a girl in which he laugh saying true true expressing that he hate Sweden, then i said u missed the point, he said which point? i replied: "why would i care about how man are being treated when i didn't care before about how women were treated ".
sadly he got confused and i don't think he got the point still.
the joke was how he is ignoring how most of history or country today it better to be a men and only few where women might be better which he hate which is reasonable but i never heard him speak about the others the place where is way better to be a men?
