Afraid Of People

Is being wary of people (seeing them as predators) and therefore avoiding them a symptom of SPD? Or are schizoids generally indifferent to people?

Seeing people as predators is probably a cause of SPD if you're young enough when you begin to think that way. Avoidance and indifference are results, although I think schizoids tend to be more indifferent than purposely avoidant.

seeing people as predators would be more avoidant at best and just paranoid if severe and applied to nearly all people.

Sometimes I have a hard time dividing my traits but I'd say Schizoid is more indifferent. However, I think it may be circumstantial. I think required or forced interaction can create issues. I mean I was fine at work while avoiding as much interaction as possible. The Avoidant traits are strong with this one.

I think an asocial and solitary lifestyle can definitely make it worse. Lack of interaction can cause a host of issues like paranoia and communication issues. Being on the Schizotypy spectrum doesn't help in that regard.

I think my fear stems mostly from paranoia, partly due to my communication issues. I don't readily trust people even though sometimes I am optimistic of all interactions. It's weird. I just feel people aren't trustworthy and honest. Mostly in it for themselves, which, I believe this cynicism is new for me. Again, a lack of interaction held it back. Can't think bad about people if you have not reason to.

avoidant: I can tell people don't like me
paranoid: I can tell people want to control me
schizotypal: I can tell people are thinking of hurting me
schizoid: people? you mean the things outside?

(oversimplifying obviously)

Just thought I'd have fun with this from my point of view since I could fit all of these based on the day or time of day. Why it fluctuates, no idea.

avoidant: People would like me more if I didn't suck.
paranoid: People are dangerous.
schizotypal: I don't relate well to people because I am different.
schizoid: People are not required, I can do this myself.
