Low-Serotonin Personality

Postby researcher2 » Thu Aug 09, 2018 12:17 am

The personality type that is called "schizoid personality disorder" by the high-functioning psychopaths who write the DSM, but which has no relation to schizophrenia, nor is a disorder, is more accurately called "low-serotonin personality". The emotions of cheerfulness, sadism, humor, dependence/friendship, and loneliness, are all mediated by serotonin, which means that the lower the brain's level of serotonin, the lower the frequency and magnitude of those emotions. Furthermore, SSRIs are sometimes given to minors so as to eliminate the characteristics of low-serotonin personality, and they are effective for that purpose.

I've taken SSRIs for years and I can tell you that it is no use for eliminating the characteristics of what you are describing as "low-seratonin personality", as far as I'm concerned. I have, however, found that taking melatonin supplements can be useful for your overall sense of well-being. You take those about an hour before bedtime and they help you get a nice sleep.

I'm not saying that melatonin supplements cure Schizoid Personality Disorder by any means. However, I've found them to be very helpful in feeling well on a day-to-day basis.

Do they make carbonated flavored serotonin? I like my water that way.

We're spending a small fortune in our household on carbonated flavored water.

I think it's a gimmick. I mean, how much can it cost to shoot some air into water and spritz some lemon or lime or berry into it?

But I can't stop buying it.

You can buy a little machine that carbonates water. You only have to buy Co2 refills and flavoring.

I tend to buy the Aldi brand so it's fairly cheap. I was buying La Croix from Menards when it was on sale. I only drink one can per day so it's not too bad. I usually have a straw cup full of ice water. My morning routine is usually ice water cup, cup of coffee and then can of flavored water. The rest of the day is ice water and/or alcohol. :)
