Intoverted certainly but I’m not convinced it’s evidence of extreme SPD.

3 months is a pretty long time. I think I could really take a turn to the extreme if I allowed it to happen. I have to work and I have friends and family commitments that make it impossible to completely isolate also I was always told that isolation will make you crazy eventually. I don’t know if that’s true but my concern is I would eventually cross some line and not be able to come back from it. So I always make sure I get human contact even if I don’t want it.
Well I wouldn’t say I’m isolated from people, I still have contact with girlfriend, friends, family etc. Which was sort of the point I was making.

The are a lot of reasons that a person may choose to isolate. Narcissists for example, need the world to view them in the distorted way that they view themselves. When this fails to happen they are often inclined to withdraw. It’s easier to present that image when are young but as they age the disparity between their idealised self image and reality becomes more glaring and gradually forces them into isolation. Isolated they may be but they aren’t developing SPD and given that narcissistic structures are primarily extroverted I would even question whether they are really introverts.

It’s the societal pack mentality that I’m trying to isolate from. The sort of thing that tells me what I should do, want, think, be... it’s an idealised fantasy of how people are, which many buy into but I have no time for and I resent having it inflicted on me. I think of it as societies narcissistic false self though I expect naps might just call it capitalism.

I gave up on TV when I was twenty and the business with Fukushima put an end to any real interest i had in news media generally.

I agree with you on going crazy in total isolation though. The few times my workaholic behaviours have demolished my social life completely it only takes a few months before my sanity started fraying at the seams.

It’s possible I’m having a degree of difficulty with the aging process myself that has to do with certain events that I won’t get into on here.
