I can definitely relate! I experience a great deal of anxiety when men are working in the house. I even stress out when the lawn mower guy comes, or when the street sweeper goes by. I usually lock myself in my bedroom and put on loud music/video games to drown out the sound of their hammering/painting/etc. but it doesn't really help. Incidentally, it's the same exact anxiety I feel when I am forced to socialize for a long period of time (i.e., family vacations, etc.) If I could arrange my life in such a way as to have total silence and solitude at all times, I would be such a happy camper!

I have two real estate agents evaluating my house tomorrow and a fibre company has been digging up the pavement in front of my house to install fibre.
I really dislike strangers in my house. My house is my safe space where I can be on my own. I hate that being violated.
I'm also not looking forward to people visiting my house while it's on show.
