Schizoid symptoms or something else?

Postby Cabecanalua » Wed Jul 04, 2018 12:03 am

I don't want to steal much of your time and attention, but I have many doubts that pop into my mind from time to time and I would appreciate someone to discusse it with.

Any of you feel confuse about your own memories? Not long ago memories, but recalling simple information you have been told or episodes that happened to you recently (some hours ago, for exemple). Having the sensation some that happened recently actually happened a long time ago in the past... Losing track of time and having to take a few moments to be certain what is the day you are in...
I find that my "memory lapses" add a great deal of difficulty to my social interaction and to my sense of self and sense of others. When I think I have got close to someone the next time I see the person is like we have to build our relationship from the beginning and we are total strangers.
Does someone understand what I am talking about?

I know what you are talking about but since I have comorbid disorders, I can't state that this is a Schizoid thing. However, I am pretty sure it has something to do with anxiety, lack of emotional attachment, identity and memory issues. At least those are the things I am pretty sure I have issues with and could all play a role in interpersonal communication and bonding.

Yes. This has been all my life. I dissociate to a rather large extreme and I believe that me being so aloof causes me to question things that happen if I don't have physical evidence. I also have a mood disorder and one of its side effects is a type of memory loss that strongly resembles a type of amnesia called transient global amnesia. Basically, I know who I am but someone may say I did something not necessarily long ago and I'll not recall it.

It depends. Mine seems to be related to how something or someone affects me. If they make me strongly uncomfortable I may block them out of my head other than a small snippet to perhaps remind me I shouldn't try being around.

This is not part of the characteristics of schizoid,
but schizoid living with repression of things, and this can cause forgetfulness problems in certain situations, which is a detachment that can be caused by the repression that exists in many different disorders.

Hope I wrote well.
