The concept of vacations is very vague as it applies to me. I don't work much on average, but I have no weekends or holidays either. I'm not formally employed, so I work when there's work to be done. On the other hand, there's nothing keeping me from being anywhere else, as long as I have access to the internet for a couple hours a day.
Right now I don't feel any need to be anywhere else, so I'm staying here for the foreseeable future, all times of the year being roughly the same as any other time. There'll be a solar eclipse next year not too far away from here though, in a place with lots of natural sights to be seen, which has been in my list of interesting places for a while. So that's something I'm keeping in mind.
When I do go somewhere, I go by myself and spend as little money as possible on everything, and eat an even more basic diet than I normally do at home. Tuna, boiled eggs and granola. To me the purpose of going somewhere different is just that: going somewhere different and being there. And then I walk/cycle a lot and take pictures. I remember one moment once when I realized that I was probably the only person in at least a mile-wide circle (there was an old volcano to one side, and an ocean to the other side, and I was starting to suspect that I wasn't actually allowed to be where I was...

). That was certainly a highlight.
