I didn't think that NAMI had anything for schizoids. I'm kind of thinking of not using the word "schizoid" and just promoting tolerance and acceptance towards those who are loners/asocial. We are not murderers who are angry and sad about being alone. Some people like being alone :D

Not all humans are social creatures. Some of us have really, really small reserves for being around people, and we need more opportunities for work that do not hinge on team work, soft skills, being around others, making the right facial expressions, etc.

I could use advice from those who found success and do not need this sort of advocacy to help those who do.

I figure the diagnosis rates for SPD (and AS) are skewed towards men for this reason.

I can be this fake persona, but wearing the mask burns me out extremely quickly, and I end up feeling completely drained (psychologically and physically) by the end of the day.

Sounds familiar.

I also end up feeling kind of disgusted that people like the fake version of me, and it is this lack of understanding and tolerance for "real me" that makes me feel alone in the world, not the lack of fake-@ss "friendships" based on shared interests.

The idea of meeting someone who can see through my lies is appealing to me in theory but probably not in practice.
