just how isolated are you?

Postby Ubinix800 » Fri Nov 24, 2017 8:56 pm

Do you have many friends, and how often do you go out?

Also, when you're alone, do you socialize through imagination? ("schizoid fantasy" defense mechanism if I recall correctly).
BDD and vulnerable narcissism/avpd traits.
(possible psychotic traits/undiagnosed, or trauma/anxiety(?)

Very little offline. I socialize with people from work, but even that tends to be online (I work from home.) Every Saturday I play DnD at a local comics and gaming shop. That's pretty much it for me.

Looooooots of the schizoid fantasy.

I don't maintain any active friendships. I get few times a year with people from college. I have my family (parents, relatives, my brother), people at work, my patients.... that's all. Sometimes I dream of being with people like regular people do. :D

I have a bunch of potential friends. People I would socialize with if I wasn't so uncomfortable doing it. They're a constantly rotating bunch. For some, not engaging is a deal breaker. Others, I socialize with just enough to keep them on the payroll, so to speak. Just in case.

This is real life. My only online friends are people from Psychforums.

I wouldn't call my imagination (fantasy) socializing, but it might serve the same purpose.

I haven't had any friends since 1994. I never use the phone, don't use email and don't text. The only time I socialize is at family gatherings, but due to distance I have to fly out of state and stay with relatives during the holidays, often for a few weeks which is extremely difficult for me since it's basically forced socializing 24/7 with no privacy at all.

I have to socialize almost everyday (university) but when i get back to my dorm, I just never talk to anyone, and not even online (one of my friends called me out on it, and he is now starting to get more distant, thats how it works i guess)
Fantasy wise, all my fantasies are about real life situations that could actually happen, if i had actually talked to the people( with some non realistic responses that are reasonable, but not very realistic as in i would never get such a response from them, and also nothing sexual).

I've decided to believe (for the sake of why not?) that zoids are what spawned the Neutrals Neutral in the show Futurama. http://futurama.wikia.com/wiki/ Since I seem to be one of the few extroverts here, if any of you want to pm me instructions I'm willing to tell folks "Hello" if you think it might bring closure to loved ones after your death. Honestly it'll likely be by email, because screw having to deal with people I don't know face-to-face. Skype at most. At least it lets me block 'em after.

I don't have a lot of friends but the few I have are awesome. I usually go out in the day if I'm going to socialize and keep evenings for myself. I do go out in evening now and again, however I prefer to be social during the day. I live in a small town so there isn't too much going on at any given time. I go out of town at least a few times a week to shop, see a movie or just get away with a girlfriend.

I have a newer rig so I can leave anytime I want to go where ever I want. I actually enjoy being home with my pets, especially in winter. I'm on the go constantly in summer and when the weather is nice, winter is nice to bc I get to stay in and feel cozy.

I don't socialize much online, all my fun socializing is in real time. I jump online a few times a day to feel in the loop of news and what is going on in the world, however I'm not addicted to socializing online like most people are. I prefer to spend time with people in real time, I like to be able to see them, touch them and make eye contact.

When I'm alone I read a lot online, also watch a lot of Utube on the TV. I'm not a phone person however I will chat on the phone for hours if I"m speaking to the right person. Not much into texting either as I like to keep my contacts and communication in real time.

I haven't had any close friends my most of my life. I've only had a few close friends (and these were back when I was much younger (high school age was the last time).

The funny thing is I tend to feel more isolated when I go out and encounter other people than when I am home alone. I guess it's because I encounter a very non-schizoid world when I go out. It's easy to feel more alienated when encountering others.

My whole mindset (politically) is of The Zeitgeist Movement variety. So...yeah, I'm constantly rejecting much of what I come across in daily life (any place I am). I feel very much ahead of my time and I'm waiting for others to catch up.

But, the Schizoid World is very unique. It's interesting...and it's hard to explain to non-Schizoids. It's cool to encounter other Schizoids on here, I must say.
Your one and only resident Schizoid (in most places).
