Diagnosis

I think I might have SPD. I wonder how many others are self-diagnosed here too.

Most of us are self-diagnosed. There's already a poll about it, so
you may wish to take a look at it.

In a way I was, but one psychologist said one thing, the other said another thing. I think the shrinks are still quarreling about what they should diagnose me with.
Still the first real (and the most common) was SPD. Others included extreme introvet, a mix of schizoid and psychotic traits, and even a social phobia (total #######4 that last one).
I'm self diagnosed with a very severe and incurable case of "being Sabratha".

After reading many posts from users in this forum I've realized I'm not like them at all. I only have one SPD characteristic: I love to be alone. The rest doesn't apply to me.

I wish you all the best.

Recently I told my psychiatrist that I would like to be diagnosed with spd, but she said that someone under the age of 18 can't be diagnosed with a pd. And she also said to forget about it, and that I don't have this pd and other stuff I didn't listen to. But she knows absolutely nothing about me + she's stupid, so I'm settling with self diagnosis. It doesn't really matter. Maybe after I grow a bit... if I’ll have any motivation (probably not, though).

This is me:

AD/HD (inattentive type) with ODD, causing AvPD.
Then additionally PTSD causing Major Depression and CFS.
And now Dysthymia and SPD.

With all these things going on, I pity the fool who even tries to diagnose this nutter!

The personality side i can live with- it's just me.
The ODD and PTSD disappeared.
The depression is treatable (although the pills make the CFS worse)

The only thing i'm desperate to have diagnosed is the AD/HD as it's the cause of everything- in the UK most doctors think it disappears in adolescence- not often. They don't realise that every 6 months when they take me off the antidepressants, I get depressed again because of the underlying problem.
I'm getting school reports/statements from friends and family etc and i'm taking my girlfriend with me to the doctor in a few weeks. The AD/HD sites recommend getting my local MP involved- this is how difficult a diagnosis is for AD/HD.
...and when a train goes by, it's such a sad sound...

self diagnosed. could talk to a guy who apparently specilises in pd's in Huddersfield but dont really see the point as im reasonably ok with it. i can deal with the negative effects on my own so i don't need him at all and having a piece of paper (or whatever they give you to say your brain is broken) doesn't really help matters in anyway besides to lable you as a nutter.
The strong are strongest alone.

When one person suffers from Delusions it is called insanity, when lots of people do its called religion

I'm currently self-diagnosing as SPD (maybe AvPD), but have been "officially" diagnosed with General Anxiety, Social Anxiety and Panic Attacks. I've been in therapy for those for over 3 years and I'm getting worse.... so I went about trying to determine my own diagnosis so I could pin my current therapist down (she's one of those shrinks who doesn't like "labels").
