When writing essays I often had trouble reaching the required number of words and had to pad them out to do so. Or that's how it felt to me, since the padding seldom added anything significant.
I dislike having to skim through a load of waffle and try to tease out what the writer is saying. I once read (sort of) a philosophy book in which one of the paragraphs was over two pages long - I was screaming to be his editor!

I don't read posts that are longer than 3 paragraphs. I often read just a few sentences here and there.

I don't think I'm particularly verbose. Based on my experience as an editor and composition teacher, I would say that I am given to excessive of paranthetical expressions. I believe it reflects my thinking style. I tend to evaluate my thoughts even as I'm thinking them. I like to consider all angles. My interest in 19th c novels may also contribute to my use of overly elaborate sentence structure.
As to writing a lot about myself, I suspect that's because I avoid that subject in conversation. The subject matter of many threads is also a factor. I don't feel comfortable making pronoucements about schizoid behavior in general but I can describe myown experience as a schizoid.
