Abusive parenting

My mother was very abusive towards me as a child. I was traumatised by the things I witnessed her do which were very violent outburst and violent attacks on other people. I am certain that this made me the way I am. But I wonder, have others had alcoholic or abusive parents growing up? Do you think this jilted parent relationship causes these attachment issues and withdrawal so common a trait in schizoid PD?
