Yeah, I hate being told to do something. I was always in trouble with authority figures.

It hasn't caused any big issues for me, but yes I can be defiant. I don't like being told what to do. It used to be worse in my teens and early 20's. I could want to do something, but if someone told me to go do it, I didn't want to. I guess now it is more something in some situations I like, but in others I don't. Like in some of the jobs I have had, I could be oblivious to what needed to be done. In turn others around me would get upset. I would get mad back and and say "just tell we what needs to be done then!" I liked to have a list or something of the work to be done then left alone.
Now it is more just dislike of authority. That is one of the things I hated about working. I didn't like it that another adult being able to tell me what to do and/or when to do it.

No, not really. I'm relatively co-operative and defiance is never my first reaction in a crisis situation.
I can be defiant though if someone is asking for it.

Yes. Do you want to make something of it? I really think the only reason I was able to stay sober for 20 some years was because my counselor told me there was no way I was going to, so I did it to prove him wrong.

That sounds a lot like something I would do.

I became a vegetarian for several years for a similar reason.
