What are you doing for new years?

I'm just going to stay home with a bottle of sparkling wine.

I'm working overnight. Same shift, nothing special, except we're closed, which is exciting. No one is going to bother me. I'll go in, get my stuff done, get out.

spent it with family, though we were away from the city and everybody was asleep before midnight, except me (i was kinda sick and had slept all day). after avoiding my extended family on the 25th, i think it was a good call. i saw most of my family, but not everyone at once, and i saw most of them just for a brief moment. much easier to handle it that way. and there would have been a lot of noise around anyway if i had stayed home. now i can safely go back to avoiding them for the rest of the year
