Therapy is a lot like relationships. You have to find someone who gets you, and be able to tolerate that person. It's going to be different for everyone and it may never work for you. It has for me but only in limited capacity. I found a therapist who understands the Schizoid condition and she is a understanding and sympathetic person to me and I have been with her for 4.5 years. I have exhausted her abilities to help me as a therapist but she understands this and still comes to see me and let me vent about life because I don''t have any other outlets. I can see her when I want and she doesn't charge me very much like $20 per session. She even comes to my house for visits and always runs over the allotted time. She is also one of the only people I trust to tell anything to in the real world. It's nice to get some kind of feedback on things when it is warranted and try to make sense of things that happen when you have no sense of proper emotions or your ability to decode them is greatly reduced compared to a normal person.
