I see those situations as mines of comic potential. Maybe it has something to do with "people make fun out of things they don't understand". I find most people's behaviour hilarious and silly, and it's only after reading or hearing the feedback of others that I realise it's "not". So the idea of morals/ethics has always been emotionally foreign to me. I can only see the selfish aspects of it (and believe that's all there is to it, but people will probably go on emotional rampages to debate me wrong if provoked).

Took me a while to do the EQ one because the darn layout is do impractical ... which probably goes to show that I'm not really autistic ... to be annoyed but such frivolous details as the layout and the fact that I had to constantly scroll up to see which side the agree was on.

Not very surprised by the results though I am surprised that other women get 47 ... because I do feel that I have a certain amount of empathy in my. Especially for those who can't defend themselves. I'm a total bleeding heart / sucker for sick animals and sometimes children too.

Doesn't suprise me much, as I found myself laughing in front of a documentary about serial killers. When the people I was with were saying "man, how can you do horrible stuff like that","this is sick" and stuff, I was like "man, killing is too much work"

I thought I had answered so many of the EQ questions in such
an empathetical way, so I was, in fact, a bit shocked to score only
12.

My empathy tends to be "oppositional-defiant" a lot of the time -
spared for those for whom no-one else seem to have any, and
indeed hate with a vengeful passion. For example, I often feel that
dictators, Nazis, mass murderers, etc. are "bullied" and persecuted
by the howling wolfpack-like public. I think that it may be my lack of
sympathy for the victims, that relieves me from the desire for
revenge for the mere soothing of hurt feelings for which I had no
understanding in the first place. Also, I may be snobbish in that
I wish not to waste my feelings on the commonplace.

I find the idea of "absolute" right/wrong or "intrinsic" value to be
as silly as the idea of absolute or intrinsic beauty. There can be
no value, and no value judgements, without an arbitrarily chosen
"standard" (such as a moral code or a price list) according to which
the evaluation is made, and which is ultimately purely subjective or
"in the eye of the beholder".

I'm not diagnosed with anything but the description on the wikipedia schizoid page is a perfect match.

In regards to the EQ score, I actually felt that I wasn't doing too badly empathy-wise. What I mean is, with these sort of tests you can pretty easily tell what you're supposed to answer in order to receive a high or low score. While I tried to be as truthful as possible, I think I was slightly biased in that I provided the 'right' answers to show my empathy levels in a more flattering (higher) light.

And I still scored low. Amazing.

But then again, maybe it's not that surprising. I think my empathy is mostly intellectual. I often catch myself thinking 'Oh, I should feel bad for this person now' when talking to a co-worker or reading or seeing something in the news. I find it amusing and almost like a quirky little 'secret' game to be honest, especially when you talk to someone and you can just tell they want you to care and say something in support. I used to think I was much the same as everyone else, but eventually one realises that it's difficult to believe people have as much trouble faking caring as I do.

Of course, I'm not a brick wall either. I can and do feel for people and animals, but that only happens occasionally and even then it's mostly limited to fictional characters in books, on TV, and in movies.
Romance before precision.
