The only criticism they really got to me is the one about not being able to smile in photos. I almost cried after that. But I usually view most criticisms as meaningless and unfounded. Criticism can also be constructive and there's always room for improvement. Praise makes me feel good, but only for so long- as in a couple of minutes, then it's back to feeling almost nothing.

I don't react to either, but I do sometimes find it annoying. Being a combat vet I often receive thanks and praise for my service from strangers that see me wearing my oef hat, but I find it tedious and boring. I usually just put my mask on (metaphorically speaking) and say thank you.
