I didn't go to a pub until that Christian girl told me she had been to a couple and they were ok. Then I started going with some friends and stuff, but didn't quite enjoy the atmosphere and the idea that there's alcohol around.
but if i have time to kill, i quite like going in with a book (i almost always have a book with me) and just sitting there with a quiet pint.

Why to kill time? I don't get it. Why do people go to pubs or cafes to read books or work in their laptops? That's what libraries are for. And if these are closed, then go home and read/work.
clubs - well, i don't mind them in one sense, because if you like the music, you can, to some extent, just shut everything else off, and listen to the music and either sit in a corner humming along or dance.

Clubs suck. The devil lives in there. Only people who want company go there. Dancing? No way, that's for exhibitionists.
but i'd still rather listen to music on my stereo at home.

That's ok, but dozing off is even better.

i'm obsessively on time. which means i'm usually stupidly early. i always allow far too long to get places. so, for instance, if i have an appointment with a tutor or something, i often get there half an hour early. if so, i will quite contentedly sit in a pub and read.

also, i don't go to pubs or cafes specifically to read - it's more that i carry a book (or at the least a magazine) everywhere with me because i often find myself early for things, or stuck between official appointments with half an hour or so to mill about. so a book is a useful ally and i'd rather sit and read somewhere warm like a pub or cafe, where i can even get a drink, than sit on a park bench.

also, sometimes, if i've been somewhere (like college) i sometimes just don't feel like going home. so i will sit in a restaurant and eat noodles or something and read there.

it's not so much that i go to such places intending to read, more that i read to pass time when i'm out and about and such places are warm and dry and have food/coffee.

Dancing? No way, that's for exhibitionists.

mine's not - haha.

but i'd still rather listen to music on my stereo at home.

I don't mind going to parties. I've been to a few but I'm not very enthusiastic about it - I mainly go for the chance of engaging in the consumption of some drug or drink, and will probably end up spending the rest of the time in the corner with a small group of people. The "parties" I have been to have been small to begin with, however, usually consisting of less than a dozen people, and sitting somewhere minding your own business is usually perfectly acceptable. I've yet to be in a party environment wherin I was surrounded by a mob of complete strangers. Parties aren't so bad when they're just sort of quiet and let you lounge in peace.

I agree family birthday parties I am thinking of. I won't be moaned at for not talking much and if I have an occasionaly laugh thats ok too. Plus parties like these usually have good food and drink.

as sad as it would sound to my peers, christianity would really turn my life around.

that sounds....fun? i duno, just knowing you are a human with other humans, with humans of definition, of faith...

yeah belief would be nice. it would change everything...

but i have plans, and faith in life would change them, i want death more than life, therefore i think i deserve the punishment of this disorder rather than a crutch to bring me back to life.

Ugh...I ######6 HATE parties, especially the ones around here.

The music is loud and usually sucks, I hate dancing, I can't even hear anyone or yell over the music if I HAVE to tell them something, and I usually don't want to. All the kids do is drink and act stupid, or like sluts (regardless of gender, which makes it even worse).

The few people I hang out with love going to the school's dance club, which is just as asinine but is alcohol free. I can't stand it there, either. It's usually just as slutty and equally amenable to sucking ass.

THAT is what an "ideal" party is to me.
Drugs and a lounge:y atmosphere.

The extroverted get-drunk-and-dance-and-buy-that-girl-a-drink kind of parties are just annoying... Acting like you give a ###$ about people... Acting like you are happy... Acting like you are normal (like them). Nah... I don't like it.
Worst thing is that you have to fit into these three things or you will get even more annoyed by all the people's questions.

People pretending to give a ###$ about me or how I am feeling is the worst kind of annoyance factor I know about.

I went to a party in the 8th grade with two of my friends. I remember speaking a total of at least 10 words for the entire 2 hours.

I don't like parties, or anything like them.

I've never quite been to a party..my bday never was because it fell close to a holiday or on a holiday sometimes. Only when I was a kid I went to a couple and I hated everyone of them. I was very non social as a kid also, I didn't like crowds of people I didn't know and I didn't like talking then either.
