Yeah. The Americans are obssessed with leadership. However, not everyone can be a leader. There's a saying "too many chiefs and too few indians".

I don't think Americans are obsessed with leadership. i think people don't really know that leadership is. Iv pondered the question and read tons of books on the question. its not what people say it is. another case of the same subject but we are talking about 2 different things.

Ok, nobody really knows what leadership is, but there are biz schools that claim to make leaders through MBA courses. What a rip off.

The Schools know what leadership is. They actually study that stuff. Stats, numbers, models ect. the average person trying to get you to be a leader, i have found doesn't know what they are talking about.

No, they don't. They're trying to turn run of the mill number crunchers into world-class leaders. Leadership has nothing to do with numbers or models, at all. Actually, Henry Mintzberg--one of the most respected "gurus" of business education--published his book "Managers, not MBAs" bashing the whole MBA fallacy that has been so profitable for B-skools and so harmful for the world as a whole--just look at President Bush, a star MBA graduate from Harvard Business School.

i didnt say most people who graduate a business school are world class leaders. they just got good grades and graduated.

most people iv found thru my own research on what a leader is, substitute the definition with that of a "manager". and they do so on a scale that changes the definition of a leader into a manager.

I think I'm the only SPD in the family. However, I have an aunt who's schizophrenic or something and has been on medicines for the last 30 years after a big crisis that sent her to the psychiatric hospital.

Then my dad is also kind of messed up. He was very badly neglected as a child and he grew into some sort of narcissist or something.

Finally, my mom has agoraphobia, so that she freaks out in public spaces or where there are many people around. Even in vehicles.

Therefore, it's just normal than I'm also a bit messed up.
