"There is some strange distance or feeling about knowing that THAT is what I live in..."

Yes, the picture captures the "THAT" - not the "I"...

What a high philosophic truth the schizoid can comprehend! --appreciate, even!
"I am a Muslim, and a Christian, and a Hindu, and a Jew... and so are all of you." —Gandhi.
"So long as you strive to serve God, all the eternal forces of the universe will harmoniously assist you. —P.Y.

I find it interesting that another person on this forum would attend a LARP event. I always wondered if this fit the personality type of schizoid. My friend (who fits schizoid the description very well) and I are good friends but we don't feel a need to talk constantly in each other's presence so it is good, we both like LARP stuff very much.

I always wondered how such a thing would appeal to a schizoid type person.

I've always been into table top RPG's since I was much younger. Though I really don't "role play" much in comparison to those I have played with. I more just like controlling what the character does and says without acting it out. The thought of LARPing scares the $#%^ out of me though. There is absolutely no way I could physically act out anything I would want to do in one of those games, no matter how mundane. I have always been baffled and impressed by those who could LARP.

Though I did get into some LARP type based combat systems like amtgaurd. I never liked the role playing part, just the actual fighting and combat system. This ended up working out perfectly once I found a medieval combat club at my university that was exactly the same, only pure combat.
When I was a child I spoke as a child I understood as a child I thought as a child; but when I became a man I put away childish things.
