Do you or anyone else have any idea just why people tend to think this? Several of my teachers have told me that i always look so angry, which always confused me, as i didn't put up any expression.

As for the Pictures: About every picture where i'm meant to smile makes me look utterly retarded. I try to look neutral or uninterested when possible.

And thank you for the compliment, lol.

i often get told i look angry. when i have my photo taken (something i try to avoid) i either look miserable or pull stupid faces. if by some small chance someone gets me to smile it's likely to be forced.

i think i look pretty nondescript. when i was younger i was told i was pretty but i didn't think i looked anything much, just a blank face. now i've been on various medications for years and i've put on far too much weight i look even more bland.

but that's how i like it.

From your pic, I could see how some might get that impression, but I'm sure when the pic was taken you were not pissed off. I know people always tell me that I look pissed off, or they ask me what's wrong just cause if I don't have a smile on my face then something must be wrong. Then I actually do get pissed off when they assume something that I'm not. Grrrrrr

I'm surprised you would reveal yourself though.

Yeah, i get that comment a lot too. All my life, people have told me that i look so awfully serious. But i think it would just be retarded to smile when there’s nothing to smile about.

PhoenixJay wrote:So I usually smile out the blue 'cause I'm thinking of something cute...then that results in crazy looks from people, lol. Which I find funny. It doesn't bother me as long as they don't ask what's so funny...but they always do ask. But I hardly ever tell them. I just say "nothing"....

Same here and nothing is indeed the best answer cause
- either i’m thinking about something cruel
- or i don’t feel like explaining (cause i’m lazy and they wouldn’t get it anyway)

about the picture thing
there are few pictures of me i actually like (sorry, paranoid me won’t put them up here :))
I tend to look like a retard cause my smile’s fake or stoned cause my eyes are closed or only half-open.

Oh well, i’m not a fan of pictures anyway

I hate pictures, with a passion. Drugs don't help. They keep my pupils artificially dilated which usually ends up a as "stoned" look on pictures. I don't smile, I don't know how to smile. If I try it looks and feels fake. I mean I smile when something fun is happening to me and what not but I can't "smile on command" and have it look natural. Another nasty side effect of the dilated pupils is that I very often end up with closed eyes on pictures, which adds to the weirdness.

I try to bring a camera at social events. This way I can avoid talking to others and avoid pictures of me.

The only time i like a camera is when i am behind it, taking pictures. Otherwise i avoid it like a plague. I've also been told that i look serious, or depressed, or pissed off when in fact my mood is neutral really. So they tell me to smile, but all i can pull is a sarcastic smirk rather than a real smile. I think being schizoid is in part genetic and that's why we have similar facial expressions and hate cameras.

I have always been fascinated with pictures of myself. There is some strange distance or feeling about knowing that THAT is what I live in....that's the vessel people experience as being Kathleen. I don't know myself as an image, but as consciousness....so it is always odd and interesting to be reminded of what contains me.

I tend to smile amongst other people when the situation requires it. But even alone I can smile, a faint smile. It's because I'm content with my life knowing that I have what I want for the moment.. solitude. But when I walk with my family I tend to be a step behind and then there is no smile any more. To be away from the socialization I send my mind elswhere *into a fantasy world where I feel at home* But when ever there is time for photographing I smile, but feels hollow to do so and it acctualy hurts inside... all I want to do is remove that fake disguisting smile that will be saved. BLÄH!! No, I hate to smile on photographs.

oh, new avatar on me, taken on May 20, tonight, sometime late at night.. perhaps between 01:00 and 02:30 - doing 24hour, not pm/am as I don't know the difference.
I rarely take pictures of my self and this one was just a coincident as the 3G cell phone-camera was initialized with the "wrong" camera when I wanted to see how good it worked under poor light conditions.

I do not like to have my picture taken. Lately I had to make one for a new student ID. I smiled because I was told to. I can make a nice smile if there is a need for such a thing. Still that doesn't mean I like that.
